PhD in Physics - Year 2017
The official call for admission to the PhD 2017/2018 has been published on June 6th at the University web page. Deadline for applications is 14 July 2017 at 17PM CET. A total of 9 scholarships is available, of which
- 6 are funded by the University of Pavia;
- 2 are funded by INFN;
- 1 is funded by ERC project 3DSPIN to undertake research on “Theoretical study of the partonic structure of nucleons”.
The selection is by qualifications assessment and oral exam (interview). Interviews are scheduled on 14 September 2017, the PhD course will start on 1 October 2017, the required academic degree (Laurea Magistrale - Master of Science or equivalent) must be obtained by 31 October 2017.
The PhD in Physics is organized in three curricula:
- Physics of fundamental interactions: nuclear and subnuclear physics, theoretical and mathematical physics;
- Condensed matter physics, optics and photonics, quantum information;
- Interdisciplinary and applied physics: biomedical physics, energy, ICT.
