PhD in Physics - Year 2019
The official call for admission to the PhD 2019/2020 has been published on May 14th at the University web page. Deadline for applications is 19 June 2019 at 17PM CET. A total of 8 scholarships is available, of which
- 6 are funded by the University of Pavia;
- 1 is funded by INFN [actually INFN will fund a total of 2 scholarships];
- 1 is funded by the Department of excellence on “Quantum physics and technologies”.
The selection is by qualifications assessment and oral exam (interview). Interviews are scheduled on 5 September 2019, the PhD course will start on 1 October 2019, the required academic degree (Laurea Magistrale - Master of Science or equivalent) must be obtained by 31 October 2019.

The PhD in Physics is organized in three curricula:
- Physics of fundamental interactions: nuclear and subnuclear physics, theoretical and mathematical physics;
- Condensed matter physics, optics and photonics, quantum information;
- Interdisciplinary and applied physics: biomedical physics, energy, ICT.
