Theoretical and Mathematical Physics

The research activities of theoretical and mathematical physics cover a wide range of topics which address to the physics of fundamental interactions (nuclear and subnuclear physics, astroparticle physics, elementary particle physics), theoretical physics (theory of nuclei and fundamental interactions, statistical mechanics, foundations of quantum mechanics, mathematical physics). These activities are performed in strong collaboration with the group of experimental nuclear and subnuclear physics of the department, the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare (National Institute of Nuclear Physics) (INFN) and within a wide network of international collaborations.
