    Some effort was also spent in studying electromagnetism, relativity and quantum theory from the sources, i.e. from
articles written at a time when physics mostly spoke German. To ease the job, some of these papers were translated in
Italian. Perhaps these texts may be helpful to someone else. For this reason they are enclosed here, as  PDF files.
Somewhat arbitrarily, they are put under three main headings:

Acknowledgments:

Several of the translations were done in cooperation  with L. Mihich, to whom goes my gratitude for the great patience shown in these years. Of paramount interest were the discussions which occurred between David Hilbert, Felix Klein and Emmy Noether during the years 1915-1918 on the mathematical structure and on the physical meaning of the so called general theory of relativity.
